Welcome back to the blog! I’m excited to be posting again and I couldn’t help but to come back with a bang!

What I love most about today’s wedding is the unique color palette. It’s not often that you see orange as a wedding color, right? But Valerie was not afraid to go against the grain and her vibrant color selection really worked!

^ I like to call this photo “Patiently Waiting For The Bride…”

^ And this should be called “Impatiently Waiting For The Bride…” Lol

Valerie was a beautiful bride with a beautiful bouquet. I love that she chose to wear her hair natural and used very little make-up. I think it really adds to the organic feel of a beachside wedding. This picture is giving me “Easy, Breezy, Beautiful COVERGIRL!”  Go ‘head Valerie! :)

Handsdown – These kids are the cutest flower girl and ring bearer EVER! And I LOVE the bright bloom in the flower girl’s hair. Just too cute!

Valerie on How They Met: “We met 10 years ago in college. My first impression of him was that he was a big teddy bear but we lost contact for about 4 years. Then one day I was working a wedding of a friend of his when we ran into each other and hit it off again.”

^I simply adore this ring set!!!

Charles proposed to Valerie a couple of weeks after they’d returned from a cruise. While sitting around watching tv together, he popped the question when she least expected it. ♥♥

I LOVE this shot! The bridesmaids look fabulous in the bright blue and Valerie’s dress is so dreamy. The ruffled design makes me think of beautiful flower blooms. I love it!

Valerie & Charles make it a point to dine out together once every week. It’s one of their small ways of keeping the flame alive. ;)

This simple & chic table setting is just perfect!  It goes to show that flowers aren’t the only way to do décor.  I think the use of starfish throughout is a great accessory for this seaside wedding. So cute!

Okay I said the color palette was my favorite part of this wedding, but I think I’m changing my mind now. How cute are these replica miniatures of Valerie & Charles? It dubbed as their place setting and cake topper too! :)

Valerie said her “wedding must-have” was having her own personal photographer. I can understand why. Her photographer, also named Valerie of Valerie Demo Photography did a great job capturing their day!

His Advice to Grooms – Yes, it is HER day, but ask her for a couple of small tasks (and do them correctly and in a timely manner, lol)

Her Advice to Brides – RELAXXXXXX… Hire a planner or someone that can keep you organized with vendors and other people in your wedding.

When I asked Valerie what she saw in their future (fast-forward 10 years) she replied,

“We’ll be planning our 10 year anniversary with great friends and family. Loving each other more each day than the last.”

I love it! Congrats again to Valerie & Charles, and thanks for sharing your lovely wedding photos with us. To readers and brides-to-be, if you’re in the Virginia area and looking for a wedding planner, give Valerie a call. Her company is called Couture Events and she said she’d loved to help a fellow YWW reader. :)

Until next time,

– Emerald
