Courtney & Eric {San Juan, PR}

Last night, I posted on the blog’s Facebook fan page that everyone needed to get their passports ready!!! For those that missed the memo, you need to do two things before I allow you to proceed:

1)      Join the fan page so you won’t miss any more alerts. :)
2)      Tell a friend about the blog.

Do we have a deal? If so, you may move on to the next sentence. Lol

Yesterday I took you on a little virtual journey to Nigeria and we explored the rituals of the Igba Nkwu ceremony. Today we’re headed to Puerto Rico to wonder in the fascination of Courtney & Eric’s destination wedding, sent to us by Hamilton Photography.

How many times have you heard a distressed bride in the middle of her wedding-planning madness say, “If I could start over I would have just had a small ceremony with close family and friends…” ? Well that’s exactly what Courtney & Eric did.

With their hearts set on THE most popular wedding date of last year – 10/10/10, Courtney & Eric began planning their dream wedding to take place at a unique venue in Baltimore, MD.

After a few months of planning, they had a change of heart about their Baltimore venue but kept their date (10/10/10) and opted for a beachside ceremony at the Rio del Mar resort instead.

From the beginning, they knew they wanted their wedding day to be “stress-free and unique”.  I think the image above evokes just that – sweet & simple!

(sigh) Okay, it’s official! My next vacay will be at a beach!!! Soooo peaceful & serene!

Doesn’t Courtney have the most beautiful eyes? And those cheek bones! Tyra Banks would say she’s “sm’eyes’ing” – (smiling with her eyes). Don’t act like you haven’t watched Top Model before. ;)

You just don’t get shots like these when you have an indoor wedding. There is something about those natural elements that really seem to bring the photos to life.

Courtney & Eric had already chosen Christina of Hamilton Photography to capture their initially-planned Baltimore ceremony. When they decided to wed in Puerto Rico instead, they called her and asked if she’d “be okay” with coming to Puerto Rico. She replied with an ecstatic “Absolutely!” and packed her bags for San Juan.

^ I LOVE this picture and I’m not exactly sure why. It just makes me happy!

They look like King & Queen sitting at their throne. Go ‘head then!

Wow! Wow! And Wow! Courtney & Eric’s destination wedding felt like a true getaway. I admire them for following their hearts and doing exactly what they wanted to do.  We wish them both many years of love and happiness, and thank you for taking us on a little virtual getaway until we can all have a vacation of our own. :)

Until next time,

-Emerald
